The 2009 Desert Sprints was a huge success with over 200 boats entered representing 13 clubs. All the results are available under the 'results' link and official regatta photographs can be viewed and ordered throught http://www.carol-crimmins.smugmug.com/. The TRA wants to thank everyone for their continued support of our local regattas. We could never do it without the volunteers, coaches, participants, parents, student athletes, officials, and members of the TRA.

The TRA is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization made up of rowing volunteers and was created to raise awareness and promote the sport of rowing on Tempe Town Lake.
Our primary goal is to continue to host regattas that will offer our rowers the opportunity to compete. It is important that we expand our events to include more experienced teams as this would allow the Town Lake rowers the opportunity to test their skills against better competition. Our rowers have participated in regattas throughout the United States and have proven to the national rowing community that, indeed, “competitive rowing in the desert” is possible. Many of our rowers have gone on to pursue rowing at the intercollegiate level |

The TRA Core Team and Working Group members are volunteer rowers, parents, and representatives from many rowing clubs who have worked together to take rowing on Tempe Town Lake to new heights in its relatively short life. TRA has some wonderfully talented people taking rowing in Arizona to the forefront of the sport. The TRA is a major leap forward and represents all rowing groups in the Arizona area and has become the single cohesive non-profit group for rowing events and information for the State of Arizona. |
